WORLD SPACE WEEK - 2017

Mahatma Schools Madurai, in collaboration with Satish Dhawan Space Centre(SDSC), Sriharikota to commemorate ‘World Space Week- 2017’ on the theme ‘Exploring new worlds in space’ conducted competitions such as poster making, essay writing, elocution, quiz and science models (space) on 5th and 6th October. Students of 28 schools and 18 colleges in and around Madurai participated and got prizes .








The function was Inaugurated by Mr. Rengarajan, Joint commissioner, Indian Revenue service, Madurai, accompanied by Mr.R.Venkatraman Dy. Director, VALF, SDSC, SHAR,ISRO Sriharikota and other eminent scientists from ISRO, Mr.Thiruchanduran Convener, vision 2020, addressed the gathering.























On 6th October, Space Awareness walk was conducted from Gandhi Museum to Mahatma school, K.K.Nagar, which was flagged off by Mr. Magesh kumar Agarwal, Commissioner of police, Madurai, in the presence of our senior Principal Ms.Premalatha Panneerselvam and eminent scientists from ISRO. The walk ended up in Mahatma school, K.K.Nagar. Mr. Marimuthu CEO, Madurai, addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of space for communication purposes.











The valedictory function was held at 4.00 pm on 6th October. Professor Chandrasekaran Registar, MKU accompanied by Mr. K.Ponginan Dy. Director, LSSF, SDSS, Sriharikota who graced the occasion and Dr. Rohini Sridhar Chief Operating Officer, Apollo Hospitals, Madurai, offered felicitation and distributed the prizes.
