MARGAZHI UTSAV 2018-19

                      This  is a yearly feature in Mahatma and it is to foster the sense of spirituality in our students. Margazhi is a Tamil month that is dedicated to prayer and worship in all temples, small or big. It is in Margazhi, that Christmas also falls. To mark the utsav this time students played the popular song "Thillai ambala Nataraja" on the instruments. It was followed by two keerthanas, which the students sang with a  touch of professionalism last of all was 'Srinivasa Kalyanam' the dance drama describing the celestial wedding of Lord Srinivasa with Goddess Padmavathy it was nevertheless, a feast to the eyes. It was a grand wedding with gifts, sweets and new ropes for the couple. Students enjoyed the programme and felt blessed.

JINGLE BELLS JINGLE BELLS!!

               December the month where body and mind are chill, all the people are in a festive mood. This caste free month depicts religious tolerance housing Margazhi Utsavam, Christmas, Milad-un-nabi altogether, ‘so that all under the sun enjoy universal happiness’. Mahatma as ‘Mahatma Gandhi insists on the same and never fails to celebrate any of these’.

Children all over walk around happily being reminded of Santa’s gifts, carols and get ready to rejoice the Birth of Baby Jesus.

As a part of these celebrations children sing carols, read out stories from Bible, visit homes in and around KK. Nagar and sing in Glory of the Lord. Finally we set up crib stage Christmas plays and all in festive mood get ready to welcome the upcoming New Year.

Mahakavi Bharati's Birthday Celebration


               Chinnaswami Subramania Bharati, also known as Bharathiyar was a Tamil Writer, Poet and Journalist, and Indian Independence Activist and Social Reformer from Tamil Nadu. He was a pioneer of modern Tamil Poetry and is considered one of the greatest Tamil literary figures of all time. 
                      In order to praise the such great person of Tamil Nadu, Mahatma celebrated his birthday with full esteem. The celebration started with the renowned Speech followed by Thoughts for the day from Bharati's Quotes, Beautiful Dance, Role play of Bharati, Poem about Bharati was recited, Song from Bharati's collection was sung.

ONE NATION READING TOGETHER


One nation reading program was conducted by Scholastics in Mahatma. Mr. Biplob Bhakta of the Scholastics welcomed and introduced the Chief Guest Mrs.PremaLatha Panneerselvam. Various other Schools also participated in this occasion. Importance of Reading was discussed and emphasized. A skit was enacted by students representing the influential of Reading. A Reading Pledge was taken and students went on a rally with dressed up story characters. Students were also holding placards motivating to Reading.
