Mahatma Model United Nation (MMUN)

Model United Nations also known as Model UN or MUN, is an educational simulation as well as an academic competition in which students can learn about diplomacy, international relations, threatening problems around the world, and the measures taken by each Government to solve the problems etc., Mahatma organised a Mock UNO session on 23rd November in which the students of classes VIII, IX and XI participated there were 3 councils namely- UNICEF, Security Council and Human Rights Council. The student delegates represented different countries and discussed the issues related to their countries.

Our Senior Principal Ms. Premalatha Paneerselvam inaugurated the session by lighting the Kuthuvilakku and giving an Inspirational Speech. This session passed way for the children to enrich their general reading, language skills and  to know about the current affairs.  

     

SATHYA SAI BABA'S 91st BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

Mahatma takes pride in celebrating Bhagavan Shri Sathya Sai's 91st Birthday. As a part of his birthday celebration children had a special Bhajan and they chanted Gayathri Mantra continuously till the school closed in the evening.

SPIC MACAY- 2016

Ms. Arushi Mudgal is one of the foremost young talents in the field of Odissi today, known for her technical virtuosity and creative approach to tradition. She has trained under her aunt and Guru Smt. Madhavi Mudgal at the Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Delhi. Ms Arushi has also had the opportunity of seeking guidance from great maestros and dancers like Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra, Smt. Leela Samson, and Smt. Priyadharshini govind , which has further enriched her approach to the arts.  Ms. Arushi tours extensively as a soloist performing at various prestigious festivals within India and abroad. Ms. Arushi has co-authored a book on aesthetics of Odissi with the senior scholar and aesthetician professor S.K. Saxena. A graded artiste of Doordarshan, she is empanelled with the I.C.C.R. She has conducted dance workshops in various cities of France, USA, United Kingdom and Singapore, and is a regular performer for SPICMACAY. For her contribution in the field of Odissi dance, Ms Arushi has been presented with various awards including Sangeet Natak Akademi's prestigious national award- Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar(2011), the young women Achiever's award by YFLO - FICCI (2011), the Chitra Kala Samman (2010), the Sanatan Nritya Puraskar (2006), the Indian President's Bal Shree Award(2003), the original Mind Award (2003) and the Rajiv Gandhi Excellence Award (2014).

     She gave a stunning performance on 16th November 2016 at Mahatma CBSE, Madurai. It was a spectacular show indeed. We were fortunate to have such a legend on our stage.
