Known as the missile man of India, respected APJ Abdul Kalam's contribution to Science goes beyond all the material recognition bestowed upon the society. A great motivator and teacher, left his foot prints with inspirational thoughts. His significant achievement in the field of Science into aerospace is well known all over the world.

Mahatma's 34th Annual Sports Meet 

 Mahatma celebrated its 34th Annual Sports Meet on 23rd July, presented a pompous, thematic show involving students from 3 schools Mahatma-K.K.Nagar,  Mahatma-Baba Building and Mahatma CBSE. It was a colorful, spectacular event that went for a couple of hours. Mrs. Radhika I.P.S., Deputy Commissioner of Police, Law & Order Madurai city, in her address appreciated the efforts taken by the teachers and related a story to boost the morale of the students. Mr. Lakshman Narayan, the guest of honour was all agog about the show and pointed out how every event went with a learning. He advised the students to chase their dreams and not be happy with doing what they are told to do. The theme song penned for the occasion, the patriotic songs in Tamil, Hindi and Oriya, the group drills and the closing dance were impressive and show cased the talents of the teachers and students and spoke about the unflinching support provided by the management.

              It was the first of the Mahatma schools, started in 1983, with just 32 students and 6 teachers by Mr & Mrs. Panneerselvam to provide a holistic, man-making education with due stress on character and discipline. Today the school has 3100 students & 150 staff members, catering to the needs of the student society in Madurai.  The school has a multi disciplinary curriculum and believes in an integrated approach.
