REFLECTIONS 2016-17

"Reflection" means throwing light on anything and everything to make them more visible and viable.

Mahatma's Reflections provides opportunity to all budding artists and geniuses to showcase their innate talents. Mahatma takes immense pleasure and pride in successfully conducting it for more than 3 decades and providing wonderful platform, to both schools and Colleges. For the past four years it's being conducted only for the school students based on the "Themes of UNO" and that of our school.
This year too all the competitions were based on the themes like (i) Year of Pulses (ii) Grama Seva (iii) Organic Farming.
That school that aims with maximum scores is presented with E.R.M.T. Rengasamy Rolling Cup. Apart from that the best disciplined school is also awarded. 22 schools participated out of which the over all Championship went to Jain Vidyalaya. The 2nd place was bagged by Lakshmi School and the 3rd place went to Idhayam Rajendran Residential School. Despite the heavy rain, the participants' enthusiasm knew no bounds.

MASTROSAT

"All that starts well ends well"

MASTROSAT Propulsion Science exhibition, held at Mahatma Baba Building on November 30th, 2016 was a successful event. The members of ISRO visited our school, which is again another feather added to Mahatma's cap. The exhibits displayed at the venue by ISRO were deeply fascinating and informative and indubiously they may aspire to become Scientist. Students involved themselves in making Satellite models which were displayed on that day. They were appreciated by the Spectators.

"Knowledge can not only be obtained from text books but can also be obtained from experience" said our Honorable district collector Mr. Veera Raghava Rao I.A.S., who inaugurated the exhibition.

Students felt that "Virtual Reality" enabled them to feel the joy of staying in the outer space. That event was also a visual feast to our students and Spectators. We thank our school management for the wonderful opportunity. The highlight of the event was one of our future Astronauts shaking hands with our Chief Guest. We had celebrated our space week by conducting spell well competitions, quiz in the morning assembly everyday, role play on Astronauts and Scientists and discussions on subjects like, "Do Aliens exist?"
